Sorry I missed this thread this week. For the first time, we didn't cook at home. Last weekend I treated everyone to supper at a nice restaurant and called that good. There are just too few of us to cook a big meal that will end up mostly going to waste. I do miss the best sandwich of the year, todays turkey, chicken dressing, and mayo.

A few years ago we FINALLY were able to convince my aging mother-in-law to quit cooking for Thanksgiving and to let us treat the family to a really nice Thanksgiving buffet at one of the local casinos. Now she wonders why she held out so long.

If I lived closer to family where we could have a get together, I would do it. But as for the five of us, we waste more than we eat because we end up with a dozen sides and a half dozen deserts. Our old fat-asses just can't scale it down ...
