The Bog of Eternal Stench

Perspective:
WE ARE NOT IN THE SAME BOAT ...

I heard that we are all in the same boat, but it's not like that. We are in the same storm, but not in the same boat. Your ship could be shipwrecked and mine might not be. Or vice versa.

For some, quarantine is optimal. A moment of reflection, of re-connection, easy in flip flops, with a cocktail or coffee. For others, this is a desperate financial & family crisis.

For some that live alone they're facing endless loneliness. While for others it is peace, rest & time with their mother, father, sons & daughters. With the $600 weekly increase in unemployment some are bringing in more money to their households than they were working.

Others are working more hours for less money due to pay cuts or loss in sales. Some families of 4 just received $3400 from the stimulus while other families of 4 saw $0.

Some were concerned about getting a certain candy for Easter while others were concerned if there would be enough bread, milk and eggs for the weekend.

Some want to go back to work because they don't qualify for unemployment and are running out of money. Others want to kill those who break the quarantine.

Some are home spending 2-3 hours/day helping their child with online schooling while others are spending 2-3 hours/day to educate their children on top of a 10-12 hour workday.

Some have experienced the near death of the virus, some have already lost someone from it and some are not sure if their loved ones are going to make it. Others don't believe this is a big deal.

Some have faith in God and expect miracles during this 2020. Others say the worst is yet to come.

So friends, we are not in the same boat. We are going through a time when our perceptions and needs are completely different. Each of us will emerge, in our own way, from this storm. It is very important to see beyond what is seen at first glance. Not just looking, actually seeing. We are all on different ships during this storm experiencing a very different journey. Realize that and be kind.

I game, but mostly older stuff. COD has been calling my name for a while now though lol. Everquest 2 was my favorite for the longest time.
I posted it like that because if gaming speed is not of the utmost importance this is what I got off ebay for 380 delivered.
Dell Precision 5810
XEON E5-1650 v3 3.5 ghz 5 core
16 gigs ram
NVIDIA Quadro K2000
Came with a spin drive hd which is kinda standard but I put in a 500 gig WD Blue 500 gig ssd.

It replaced an old Dell Precision T3500 which is quite a few years old and gave it to a friend who is running it today. Just wanted an upgrade so to speak.

These are pretty heavy duty computers that run for years and years and can take quite a load and not break a sweat.
Brand new this 5810 was in the 2500 dollar range.

This! And the WHO, but China can piss off. I'm going to go to a Chinese restaurant and order bat soup, just for the reaction. Then leave, because I'll never buy Chinese again.
Lol, remember, not all Chinese are mainland nationals. Some are from Hong Kong, or Taiwan, and hate Xi's government as much as you do. If you see the five starred red flag, they are likely sympathetic to Xi.

Well, some are having fun during the shutdown.

Still cool, but to me that's like setting new passing records with today's NFL rules.

Would be interesting to see India and China have a 'street fight'. And India hurts them.

How's this for a slap in the face to "essential" workers? We kept working and our reward was "jack shit".

"The trouble with the $600-plus-up, and maybe we needed it in that emergency period, but frankly it's a major disincentive to go back to work, and we don't want that," Kudlow said, and predicted the beefed-up benefits wouldn't be included in the next federal legislation.

Holy SHIT! Our gubmint sucks balls. I swear if you put all them bastards in a round room and told 'em to piss in the corner, their fucking heads would explode.

You want to see people go back to work? Take that 600 per week away asap. Don't bribe them to go back.

Why do you think the added unemployment was $600 per week? Any thoughts on that?

What is the "magic number" the Left likes to talk about for minimum wage? What's that times 40 (hours per week)? The Left has proposed keeping the $600 until January.... Minimum wage UBI??

If I understand the article correctly, taking away the $600 and giving the "back-to-work" incentive go hand in hand and the idea is coming from Trump's camp.

Looks like the virus wasn't as effective as hoped. Plan "B" being rushed into place. Probably going to rattle sabres hard before election to scare public into seeking peace with China. The Brits are going to be pushing the issue with HK, with the reneging of democratic promises made there. Xi likes bending Chinese citizens to his will. He will find some countries don't play that.

India ain't scared to nuke Chinese cities, Xi's bullying with his neighbors is going to hurt China soon. If India jumps on them, others may join in on a different front.

Reminds me, need to get ammo before prices go up.
