We were supposed to spend 3 days up in the mountains but a winter storm warning and an emergency dog issue kept us from going. Instead we made a day trip up to the snow. In my younger days I would hit the local ski slopes and not think much about it. Times have changed since I've gotten older. I am now officially a wimp.

No matter how bundled up I was I still froze my ass off. Fingers numb, toes numb, all for the experience of spending the day in the snow. I'm a beach guy and while I know the misses probably has another day circled on the calendar for our snow vacation, I am going to try every trick in the book to change that.

Yeah I'm not looking forward to the next couple days. Temps are supposed to start falling tonight to single digits for tomorrow and then the snow is supposed to start in the morning. Windchills through Sunday will be below zero. We've had a pretty darn good winter so far. A week ago it was in the 60s and we haven't had snow yet which has been great. This will be a big change. Good luck on not having to go winter vacationing. I think I know how that will work out for you.:ROFLMAO:
@Nod4Eight has probably been dealing with this type of weather for a month now. He's probably thinking I'm a wimp for complaining about it. :ROFLMAO:

Nah, we finally got cold and snow in the past week or 10 days. Single digits over the weekend. I had a few "frost-free" hydrants freeze up but put some heat tape on them and they are working again this morning.

Funny thing - we got about 8 inches over a 2 day span. Folks in Boise were freaking out saying "it's snowmageddon 2.0". No, no it's not.

Snowmageddon happened in the winter of 2016-7. It was what they call a "100 year winter". Record snow, record lows. Snow piled up so high that my hogs just simply walked over their fences. 3.5 feet of compacted snow, -25 degrees, 6 weeks where the high temps never broke freezing. That winter fucking sucked. This is nothing close to it.

I think my Shitty New Neighbors thread got merged here so this is where I'll give the latest update as requested.

I was doing a full fluid change on my mom's truck before Christmas and peckerhead walks over and asks to use my $350 chainsaw that has been my baby since Hurricane Michael. I said the bar is bent, had to explain what the bar is, (not actually bent), then, smelling blood in the water, offer to go look at the limbs he wants to cut and lend him my POS machete.

I grabbed the machete my dad gave me as a kid that was some free prize and a pair of cheap gloves. I told him where to hit, With live oaks, don't hit the bend, the weak spot is at the trunk.

I watched him kill that machete, dull as hell, whacking a 6" diameter live oak limb and managed not to laugh. He didn't even make it half way through one.

His late Christmas/New Year's present came in today and it's now sitting on the Prius.

Yes, I am this petty/vindictive and embrace it...oh, and his name is Quinn. Quinns are weird.
