The new and improved Good Morning thread!

We took a lunch. Doing good so far, tore off the shingles, replaced 2 rafters and some plywood. We are going to go back out in a minute with the goal to finish repairs (almost there), removing some siding for flashing and get the felt in. That leaves us with shingles, flashing and putting back a few pieces of siding for tomorrow.
I ended up having some major rot. Pulled the fascia, sub fascia, soffits, and had to scab in new 2x8 to the main rafter. Got the self sealing membrane installed, got the flashing installed, and the house wrap up. Started installing the fiber cement siding boards. Got about half a wall done. I hope to finish that wall tomorrow, and get it caulked. Then I get to replace the felt and shingles I had to remove. I doubt I’ll make it to the fascia and soffits tomorrow. Hell, as bad as I’m hurting right now I feel like I would have to get better to die 😂!

Hoping to finish my entry landing and steps down either side today. Probably trim out the base and door tomorrow. The fucking dog is always in the way morning.
That work area is entirely too neat and organized. It always looks like a bomb went off when I’m doing a project.

We were lucky, the porch roof took almost all of the rot. The pisser is that it has been repaired at least twice, going by the mixture of plywood and OSB board but nobody addressed the cause of the leak. My house is over 100 years old and originally has a tongue and groove hardwood roof and we found a very early Coke Classic can in the rafters. We are going to replace about four runs of vinal siding on the dormer to get the flashing installed. We decided to replace all of the shingles so we can use flashing where the two roofs tie in so tomorrow we are going to install shingles and flashing. We are figuring about 6 hours should let us wrap it up. The next good weekend will see us take on the front porch.

I went to make a pot of coffee, dropped a full can of coffee and lost it all on the floor. I now have a sneaking suspicion that I didn't start the pot when I left the kitchen. One of these days my manifesto will be complete and a Monday morning like this will lead to world changing events. GRRRRRRRRRR!
