The new and improved Good Morning thread!

So, I have covered the guy's job role all last week and he comes in on Monday and half way thru the day calls out sick! My boss IM's me on Teams and says "Hey I need you to cover Chris's role for the rest of the week... blah blah blah". I am literally dumbfounded. I cant even hardly think when he tells me this... Hell, I haven't even barely gotten thru the backlog from my job!

I reply back "You know yer my guy, right? I would stick my neck out for you any time, that's how much respect I have for you... but WTF?!" So, he explains the situation and apologizes profusely etc. So I grudgingly say "Aight, I got it... but I expect something for this come bonus time" He is all "Hey, I really appreciate this...blah blah blah"

So, I am literally doing my best at this guys role trying to keep everything caught up but shit is falling through the cracks and I keep having to back track and fix them... my number one guy, on my team who sits right next door to me is giving me hell and loving it because he used to be the guys backup until he just refused to anymore. My boss IM's me at COB yesterday and says "Hey, I got somebody at the other campus to cover for the rest of the week starting tomorrow" I am both excited and pissed because I probly still have a full days work of that job to catch up to current.

Damn I hate cobbled together IT groups that do not have specific roles. Anyway, hoping the rest of my week gets back to normal.

Tell him you felt a little out of whack and took an at home Covid test and you'll be out for the rest of the week. ***cough cough*** You're welcome...
