It was my SIL yapping, not my wife. It is a pet peeve of mine: if I am doing something for someone, that someone is not going to micromanage me. I fought and won that battle with my wife many years ago. Don't get me wrong, I will take suggestions but if anyone is going to stand over me and micromanage, I am going to hand them the tools and get them to show me. I have done that to plant managers, officers, coworkers, engineers and even my wife ... handed her a water heater element wrench and left for the day.
