Thanks everybody. This is the first time I have had to deal with this kind of situation as my oldest brother always did. So talked to the doctor and he said that my brother was deteriorating quickly and we discussed the end of life procedures then I told him to go ahead and take him off the ventilator and make sure he is comfortable.

Now, I am just waiting on the call that he has passed. Really mixed feelings about all this but I do know that he would not have wanted to be kept alive artificially. I appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers.

My youngest and I will drive down Wednesday to get the death certificate and have him moved to a mortuary and all that. Now I need to call my other brother and let him know.

True make of a man is doing the things no one wants to do, when no one wants to do them. Sorry its on you, but I would bet he is glad youre the one.
