Great news!!! And I'm not just talking about the muscle relaxers and Percocets ... I know, I need professional help.Howdy folks!
Just got back from spending the day at the emergency room. After another night with no sleep and severe pain, I had to go get checked out. ER Resident dr scared the hell out of the wife when he told us he had to check me for an embolism (blood clot) due to symptoms. They loaded me up on morphine and sent me for another MRI. My neurosurgeon came down and took over my treatment plan. MRI showed the surgical post-op healing was progressing well and everything looked great! They ran all kinds of test and determined that I had an old rotator cuff injury that was really pissed off and causing my pain. They said the old injury didn’t need surgery, and should respond well to treatment.
They injected heavy duty steroids directly into the joint, pumped me full of muscle relaxers and Percocets and sent me home with new prescriptions. First time in days I’ve been pain free! Effed up, but pain free! I have another follow up next week and hopefully I’m finally on the road to full recovery! Thank you guys for taking the time to let an old man rant!
Glad you got some relief and more importantly, an answer to what has been going on!
As the surgeon was explaining yesterday, they really crank down the shoulders with restraints when they are performing the procedure that I had done on my neck. With the old preexisting shoulder injury it compressed that scar tissue and really pissed it off. So, we’re going to keep it happy with the steroids and muscle relaxers for another week until my follow up and hopefully get back to being my normal jovial asshole selfGlad you got some relief and more importantly, an answer to what has been going on!
I hate bean counters!Last May, I was hospitalized for pancreatitis. The VA authorized it and approved payment that day. For once, I have to give credit to the VAMC. Almost a year later, The ER doctors have refused to file for payment and turned me over to collections. I have given the Drs' office and two collection agencies the approval number. Today I gave the third the same information and a notice of intent to sue. I am calming down but really think I have had about a two day manic episode over this shit. I am doing all I can from going out to the hospital and climbing up someone's ass. I am sure that if I smoke a bowl, things will mellow out.
I must admit that I was surprised and amused when I called the collection agency this morning. They are a law firm and was not sure what to do when I gave them a notice of intent to sue. I was immediately put through to one of their lawyers who was more than happy to call the VA and get the billing information. I will be shocked if this is not taken care of by the end of the month. The silver lining is that now that the account has been handed over to the third collection agency, the doctors are paying the lawyers 50% of the bill just to file the paperwork that they should have a year ago.I hate bean counters!
