My ex was not quite that bad but close... my kids were very vocal if they could not spend time with me. The only time she tried that kind of crap she had an order of protection sworn out on me ( it was all lies as she just wanted to control when I could see the kids but they have that period where you get served then you have to go to court to tell the judge your side and my court date was two weeks out and it was Thanksgiving ) so I get served and then she calls me and says the kids aren't coming over for Thanksgiving because they are going to her mothers so I write her a letter detailing what we had agreed upon and that I would take her to court over this so she calls the police and they come pick me up at work because I initiated the contact.
Thank Gog I had one of the best lawyers in town. Ended up, once I got to the jail and they let me have my phone call, I called my attorney at home ( they picked me up at 5:00 pm so I would have to spend the entire weekend in jail before I could see the judge ) and his wife answered ( who is also an attorney and I found out best friends with the judge who signed the order of protection ) so after I explained what was happening I was out within 24hrs and they ended up rescinding the order.
When I finally got to see my kids, they told how they made my ex miserable the whole time at her mothers as they kept complaining about what she had done ( yes, she actually bragged to my kids about her little plan and was shocked when they did not share her enthusiasm ). A week after that incident when she found out that the judge had lifted the order due to her abusing the order to get her way so she called me and said she would sign the divorce papers.
That was the only time I got anything positive out of that whole situation... course eventually getting full custody was huge for me too, but that took almost 10 years later.
