I went a funeral of a friend and then the cemetery for the burial around 10 years ago. I hadn't been in the area for a while. While going back to my car, I saw the headstone of one of my High School friends along the way and had to just stand there for a while. We lost touch after high school. I know the feeling.

if it will turn on and just not cool, you can adjust a sprinkler to spray water on the outside coils by bareley turning the faucet on just enough to have constant cold water hitting the coils, believe it or not, this will cool your house tonight enough for you to sleep decent..

I went out and was looking for my sprinkler head which I dunno where that damn thing is now ( bought it two years ago and now my youngest has done something with it ) so going to have to grill my youngest about that. grrr. While I was in the garage my oldest pulled up and she had two of those tall cylindrical looking fans she brought from her house and told me she used these last year when her AC was out for a couple days.

They worked pretty damn good ... I pulled the top sheet off the bed and put one fan at the foot of the bed and the other on the side. Slept pretty soundly.
