The new and improved Good Morning thread!

Cutting up a beef tonight. Had a 700 pound steer bloat and die on Saturday. Was fine when I fed them that morning, came back an hour or so later to rebed their barn with cornstalks and he had bloated and died. there went $2500 down the drain. Might as well eat him and get some use out of him.
Just curious, but on a deal like that, since he didnt get finished on grain for a month, will the meat taste much different, do you plan to make burger out of all of it or process like you would normally, is this the poster steer for "grass fed beef"?
sorry for your loss, i guess thats part of the business though right?

He was roughly about a 700 pound steer. He was on corn but had another 700 to 800 pounds or so to gain before he would have been finished. So yeah the meat dosen't have as much of the marbling in it that he would have had he been grown. So it won't be as tender. Most is going into burger, with a few roasts, and the loins whole.
