The new and improved Good Morning thread!

Morning all. Cleared off the cars yesterday covered in ice at the high of 32 degrees. I said "I got this, I'll be at work tomorrow (not scheduled until 1PM)." Got up at 9AM to find around 5 inches of ice, buried my car like concrete. I had been waiting for my young neighbors to venture out this morning to make the first move, and they said it is a no go, cant make it out to the main road. Sheesh... Feels like concrete on my feet on the side roads and drive way.

Thanks, I am getting calmed down and should be okay for the day. I did call the VA's regional office and filed a complaint with the state's VA OIG, and the Joint Commission. I am trying to talk myself out of filing a complaint with the state(TN or VA) against the PA's license. All I requested from the patient's advocate was a call/meeting/2nd opinion with my PA's supervisor to voice my complaint/concerns, but the patients' advocate deemed that excessive. Now I can show them excessive, I struggle with self-restraint when pissed.
Sorry hear about this.

I have driven across a small piece of it, but it was a rushed trip.
I just looked at a map, we drove across the majority of it coming into Billings from the south headed west. Me and my son drove a loaded 29 foot Penske truck with car hauler nonstop from Fayetteville, NC to Tacoma, WA so it is a fuzzy memory under the best of circumstances.

That is a long drive

August of 24 the missus and I finally did a bucket list drive out west. We’d driven to Sedona a few times and had stayed in Santa Fe along the way. But there was always a destination and a timeline on those trips. I wanted to wander and see the West. Boy did we. Rented an Audi A6 and left KC with only a destination for the first night. Sioux Falls. Then our plan was to do a counterclockwise circle and cross some states we had not been threw off our list. We had a loose idea of some places we wanted to see but we just kind of took things as they came. Two nights in Rapid City. One in Livingston, MT. Two nights in Jackson, WY. One night in Provo. One night in Farmington, NM. Two nights in Santa Fe. A final night in Dodge City, KS.

We saw a Missouri River in SD that was so incredibly beautiful in comparison to what we get of it here in KC. Mount Rushmore. Needles Highway. Little Big Horn. The Missouri River headwaters (maybe the highlight of the trip for me). Fly fishermen all along the gorgeously meandering Madison River enjoying unimaginably beautiful scenery. Pitch black night skies outside Jackson. Napoleon Dynamite’s house in Preston. The shockingly changing geologies from place to place in Utah. Forest Gump’s “think I’ll go home now” spot in Monuments Valley. Kitschy tourist spot at Four Corners. Santa Fe being Santa Fe. Then a leisurely long-range view of a damn fine Midwest thunderstorm rolling into Dodge City our last night on the road.

So worth the time. Highly recommend it if you ever can create the opportunity.

Really enjoyed reading some of the stories that are on the front page of this site.

The Penn State roster turnover one was pretty enlightening, I knew they were losing players but didn't know it was that bad.

Morning everyone. How did the storm treat you @della any damage or power loss? Your Cattle doing alright
We were fortunate, no loss of power. It's really cold ( 8 degrees), nothing compared to where you live, but cold. We have wind breaks and the cows are getting by. I'm glad I don't have to deal with them up close and personal anymore, especially on days like this or storms nights when a fence is broken.

I know you are on the front line and winter can be brutal. Your cows managing?

Yeah mine are doing fine. I'm giving them more silage to eat than normal, as long as you keep good feed in them they can take about anything with a windbreak.

When I was young my dad would get onto me for constantly taking sweet feed to the cattle even in late Spring. "I was driving him to bankruptcy".
Those are sweet memories.
