The new and improved Good Morning thread!

Good morning. My middle girl won the broiler chicken class yesterday, on Tuesday she had an interview with a separate judge and turned in all the records and pictures of what she did raising her birds, then yesterday the actual show judge selected which broiler pen of 3 looked the best, scores were tabulated and she has now won this class 2 years in a row. The judge said in his remarks to the crowd that he dosen't usually like judging the broilers because usually they are just fat birds and kids don't do the extra work to make them really stand out, Then he said her broilers were truly outstanding and are some of the best he has ever seen, and he thinks she has it down to a science. He said he has been judging chickens for 30 some years. All the contestants in this class get their birds on the same day from the same hatchery. They are brought to the extension office and divided up into how many each kid ordered, usually15 for each. It's gate cut on what birds you receive. The 3 birds she showed weighed 10.35, 10.15, and 10.05 pounds. They were by far the biggest birds there.

Your girls are kicking some ass this week. This is great, enjoy the victories.

Good Morning,,

so yesterday was interesting, I work for a mom and pop chrome plating shop part time, I generally work from 7 till 11 but will usually work more if there is work to do, I do machine work to support the plating business.. we do a lot of Hydraulic cylinder plating and some of the pieces are fairly long.. like 30 feet or so.. Think 3 stage dump trailer.

they asked me a while back if I'd like to drive some, delivering or picking up parts. I thought it might be fun to get out a bit so I said sure,
we keep the weight just shy of requiring a CDL so I just had to get a DOT Physical and a medical card ok'ing me for commercial driving.

They have a dodge Ram 2500 with a 30 ft goose neck trailer, I've never pulled more than a boat trailer.. I rode along twice and yesterday got my first taste of driving.. we went from our shop through atlanta and on to Spartanburg SC and back.. took about 11 hours to do.. I have to keep a log and I am subject to inspections at weigh stations..

Everything went well yesterday but I found out that Driving that much weight is not as easy as you might think, oh and people are fucking crazy.

Good morning everyone. Fair is over for another year. Again,Thankyou for the well wishes for my daughters, they work hard and deserve what they get and win.
I’m proud for them and you! They’ve learned and demonstrated a work ethic that is sadly not found in this generation. Good job dad!!!
