The new and improved Good Morning thread!

I have family arriving later today so I may not be around much in the next week. We are moving my MIL to a new assisted care facility. On the bright side, Hyundai called me today and are replacing my engine under warranty and extending the drive train warranty to lifetime. Just 30k miles and the POS engine blew ...

Damn man I'm in a treestand and you've got an inbound MIL and a blown engine. Condolences.

Trade that biatch in for a used Camry. They will go at least 30K on no oil! :)

It pisses me off that Hyundai had problems with this particular engine seizing and burning the car down for almost a decade ... but if they are going to stand by their product and give me a lifetime warranty then I will not get rid of it. I will drive that bastard until the wheels fall off.

It's snowing again here, the roads are bad and about 7 degrees out. Just got back from getting my daughters truck. It was stranded in a parking lot about 20 miles away, a brake line rotted through on it last night, and of course no brakes. I just filled it up with fluid, pinched the line over and drove it home.

BTW, IF you really want to piss off a chemical engineer that has been in management at a major company for 30 years, when they say "listen to me, I am a scientist", simply respond by asking the last time they submitted a paper for peer review or even done any actual research in the chemical world. When asked why that matters, point out that the argument was an appeal to authority fallacy and holds no more relevance than a sunburned proctologist's opinion on global warming ...
