The new and improved Good Morning thread!

Put my boat in the water today, I bought a bass tracker pro165 with a 4 stroke 40 hp merc about 10 years ago, have not done anything to it.. its been under the shed since July.
My son put the plug in and we slipped it into the mighty Coosa river this morning, the damn thing cranked right up and idled like a kitten. but then I noticed some water coming up into the floor.. hammered down on the throttle and my boat wouldnt come up on plane, about the same angle as the old hustler 3/4 scale if you know what I mean.
turns out, my son put the plug in the wrong hole. I fixed that and used the bilge pump to get all the water out.. and from there, the boat ran great and all functions were perfect.
I say all that to tell you this, dont shy away from the 4 stroke engines, they bad ass..
oh, no fish worthy of pics, just some little dinks.

Wish me luck this late afternoon. Driving to my son’s place to spend a couple days just doing guy things.

The good luck needed is because the route (quickest) I am taking involves a stretch of freeway where the highway patrol as been investigating, since April, close to 50 reports of cars having their windows damaged by someone shooting a bb or pellet gun.

So I pulled the blades off my mower to sharpen them and found two big ass cracks on the rear brackets. So, I went and bought a little 125 amp 120v flux core welder. Took me a while practicing on some scrap metal to get the hang of it, but this little welder works pretty good. I’m going to practice some more on scrap before I tackle the mower deck though. I’ll never be able to make a living as a welder, but I’m confident I can make a solid (if ugly looking) weld.

Thanks for the tips and the offer! But, I don’t get a new toy if I get someone else to do it for me! 😜
Seriously though, if I can’t get it, I might give you a call!
