I have been all through the Sub Museum in Groton, so I know I have seen its flag and read about it, but I forgot about it. I am checking the Fat Electrician's channel now. Thanks!
 
Another sub from that era with interesting stories is the USS Parche(SS384), not to be confused with the USS Parche(SSN683) which was the most decorated vessel in the history of the United States Navy, and in particular Ramage's Rampage. He sunk five Japanese ships in 30 minutes.
