No. Country and western is still very much alive.

It's the pop country aka Florida Georgia line that hogs up the "country" waves.

I'll admit I'm not hip to today's country music other than the CMT awards is run by America hating communist but something just doesn't sound right with that name 'pop country'.

I was in two car wrecks when I was in high school including rolling my truck into the river when George Jones was blaring over the speakers. That should have been a warning.
