I was prepping for wife’s retirement party tomorrow when i realized I had an extra bottle i forgot about.

i wasn’t planning on a pour tonight but it’s been a long day of prepping and picking kid up that flew in to San Diego.

So 116 proof was enough, after 4 pours and talking to nod, I was feeling pretty good, then my daughter and her fiance walked in , just drove in from omaha, because her bridal shower is tomorrow. Now I'm deep and I'm feeling damn good.

Old Fashioneds tonight. A recipe from my favorite bar back when I spent a ton of time in Milwaukee.

2 oz bourbon
1 oz Luxardo Cherry Sangue Morlacca
Bittercube Blackstrap bitters
Bittercube Cherrybark Vanilla bitters
Seltzer water

In an old fashioned glass … Muddle 1 Luxardo Cherry with 4 dashes of each of the bitters and a small slice/wedge of navel orange. Add the bourbon and Cherry liqueur. Give it just a couple of easy stirs. Add the equal amount of seltzer. Add a big ice cube if you have it, otherwise add ice to bring near the top of the glass. Pour a floater of bourbon on top to finish. If you feel fancy and adventurous, flame an orange disc into the drink and rub around the glass rim before dropping in (believe me, it’s worth it). Add a skewer of two Luxardo cherries.

If y'all haven't tried Crown Royal Peach, I fully recommend it. It literally tastes EXACTLY like peaches because it's soaked in actual peaches to get the flavor.
