Was $2.35 for me as lead lifeguard at the swimming pool. The reason I was "lead" was because I was the only one passed the Red Cross WSI class. I was 16 and my salt mine involved string bikinis on other teens my age. Career wise, yes ... I peaked at 16.

70-71. Before I joined the Navy worked at a Texaco gas station in Foley, Al. This was in the days the attendant washed your windshield and checked oil. 1.65 an hour. And gas wars would start along the Gulf Coast and gas would be as cheap as 5 cents. Yes, you read that right. Cigs were 25 cents out of a machine.
