Would you guys consider it a major bowl win?

This is a topic on Irish Breakdown.

One of the big knocks on ND is not having a major bowl win in a LONG time. Would you consider a first round playoff win at home a major bowl win?

Personally I say no. But a lot of the Homer's say yes.

What say you?

Let me tell you what I think:

I'll say this.....IF ND struggles with Indiana, UGA is gonna kick the shit out of the Domers. I'm simply looking at matchups in each area of the game.
I don't necessarily agree. IMHO this season does not have an elite team. Every team in the playoffs has a weak spot or two so even the talent gap can be overcome with matchups and play design. I don't think every team stands a legitimate chance to run the table, but most do.

Yes.

I do not want to play you at all.

That badass QB that Indiana has threw 44% against the only ranked team he played. They had a cakewalk season. ND is at home. It shouldn't be close.

And Notre Dame only had 286 total yards against NIU and their best win is probably against TAMU. I'm not saying that IU is a better team or program, but this year even with all of the advantages the blue bloods have are not enough for a guaranteed win. Should ND win and be favored? Absolutely but that doesn't mean that it should be a foregone conclusion that they win.

No, because of who y'all are playing.

Indiana against their only two Top 25 opponents in 2024:

0-2, with a combined score of 68-18

Outgained 721-294 in combined yardage

Rourke is below 50% completion, under 100 yards in both, 0 TD, 1 INT

"We don't just beat Top 25 teams, we beat the s--- out of them." Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti didn't hold back on the Hoosiers' success this season.
Yup!
