We've pretty much killed off C, and there's just not enough idiots around to fill the burger flipper/entry level construction type jobs. They really need to bring back the day laborer visa and start putting these folks to work, rather than having them try to slip over fences and hide so they can feed their families. Bonus, we could tax them and track them.

Two of the “Trump waves” were financed by Soros (and likely China) to test Trump and put him in a catch 22. Turn them away and (racist) “Orange Man Bad”. Amnesty? Lose the base (and get crucified by the mass majority leftist jackal media for weakness and hypocrisy).

And please spare me the lazy argument made for Bonn-bon eating entitled to an opinion while watching “the View” women about America and immigrants. No one is anti immigrant. There is a difference between immigration (legal) and invasion (illegal). I’m Irish. My ancestors came here poor and looking to survive. The O’got knocked off my family name. They were persecuted, vilified, drafted,jailed yadda yadda (don’t care) but they did it LEGALLY and more importantly despite hardship assimilated. There is a gulf of difference and you cannot in good conscience deny it. As for the “socio-economic” aspect of the LatinX wave, I’m all for it. I’m Catholic. Bring on Catholic Latinos. Ooh, but see, Democrats don’t like that. They hate the morally conservative aspect of “the Brown wave”, they want to make them “victims” based on race (and class) to incentivize them to vote “good ol Uncle Joe”. There’s also plain and simple logistics. I find it passingly queer how so muchantiquated or traditional American values are ridiculed (at best) or vilified or even criminalized by the left when it’s convenient. It is an American ideal - ideal- to take anyone. But reality must be accepted, and that’s impossible, no matter the depth of our compassionate benevolence. As a Catholic I ideally turn the other check. Once. Twice, but after a thirdpunch, I hit back. Otherwise I’m a fool. America cannot take in everywhere.

Now, as for the labor shortages today I blame that on the youth being conditioned into socialism combined with corporate overreach (extreme under “Covid”), but I know the perfect solution, which the left fears-“Support Black Businesses”. It’s s fucking shame (and detrimental to America) teens don’t work shit jobs. Those teach them work ethic, humility, the value of a dollar, and at a ground level how shit works. And village idiotsneed jobs too, bless them.

Let's assume worst case scenario here. You are correct and Soros funded two waves but inexplicably a third one shows up because Biden is spineless. It pretty much fails the sniff test, but assuming you are correct, wouldn't it be Trumps job to foil it? I mean it's not like they were on a bullet train from Honduras to El Paso. These things travel through Mexico for months at a time to reach their destination.

The simpler explanation is it's a shitshow at home and these folks just want a better life for their kids.

You mention your distant relatives arrived legally (as did mine from Norway). Prior to 1882, the requirement for legal immigration was this:

1) You showed up.

After 1882, these were the requirements:
1) Pay a fee of 50 cents. (Not a ton, that's basically 14 bucks in todays dollars, but it keeps away the destitute)
2) No more convicts (Not a bad provision)
3) No chinese period. (They were competing for jobs)

After 1924 (Quotas become a thing)
1) No asians pretty much at all.
2) Literacy test for anyone 16 or old (Kinda funny one really considering a majority of the population was still illiterate)
3) Quotas (3% of the existing foreign born population is the cap). This basically F'ed the asians in the A since they'd already been restricted since the 1880's.

So while these folks are illegal today, they would have been welcomed back prior to 1882, perhaps even up through 1924 (if they could pay the 50 cents and didn't stab anyone or be chinese), but after 1924, entry into the US became a whole shitload harder.

The reason this country became so great is because we accepted people who wanted a better life. Not so much these days. Let em in, put em to work. Those that work hard will succeed, those that want to suck on the governments hind tit will be eating Ramen noodle soup and living in mom's basement.

I want to address everything but typing on a phone blows. The reason the coordinated and financed waves didn’t work under Trump was he incentivized Mexico to turn them back (for us) so it wasn’t even a problem for us, and it worked, to both our, and Mexico’s, mutual benefit. Hence the 180 out difference in the coverage by the media. Sensationalized under Trump (and politicized) and covered up/buried under Biden. As for “refugees”, by law, they’re to be accepted to escape harm - not given cart blanch to wander the earth aimlessly, fuck the sovereignty of law in pursuit of the ideal. Many countries prior to America these migrants are free from harm. Tell me, the African (countries) migrants along the Rio Grande- “so poor, so helpless”- how’d they cross an ocean and traverse several safe South American countries before arriving in lower Texas begging for shelter in Biden shirts? One wonders.

As for the latter half… tell me… you wanna go back to “the way we did things in 1882”? Or, only when convenient for your political bent? And as far as immigration, yeah, I think getting manual laborers in the US to work manual laborer jobs is actually a good thing. I've no issues with your requirements, the real trick to assimilation is to prevent "Little Haiti's" from popping up. Spread them around, their kids will pickup the language just like every second generation kid does. 1st generation is always a wash.

FYI most of the africans are actually coming up through Columbia, Venezuela, Brazil via boat from Africa, then walking up through. Many actually stay in South America who are having similar problems with illegal immigration. Some for example aren't necessarily poor. They may just not want to get killed in the Cameroon civil war for example, and like it or not, the US is literally the best place in the world to immigrate too. A victim of our own awesomeness. :)

“A victim of our own awesomeness”, I disagree. But only insofar as LEGAL immigrants go. I am all for em. Usually a first gen immigrant to this country is as, if not more, Patriotic than anyone. Because they know, firsthand, the hard life abs they appreciate with humility our/their new opportunity. But if we’re to have (and I mean broadly, not you and I) a constructive conversation about this we cannot conflate those coming legally (or the justified/legitimate refugee) to become American, and those looking to come and exploit and undermine or even destroy our country.

You're way out of touch if you think that's still the case. Most of the 1st gen these days are well educated, usually much older, and typically well established in their home countries. They're here to do H1B jobs for money and are typically from either India or China. Many of them have zero intention of actually staying here, they're just here to make enough money to live like kings when they go back home. That is part of the problem. By forcing only highly skilled labor immigrants access and massively limiting unskilled laborers, that whole "Patriotic because this life is so much better thing" is lost.

Incidentally the folks who are the spies, want to undermine our country, they aren't going to come from the guy trying to hold down a job at wendy's or drive a cab to support his family. It's going to come from the Software engineer who's thinking, damn if I just steal all this code, I can make my own product back home and make bank.
