House of the Dragon

My favorite part is how nobody saw the evil flip coming when we knew there was another Dragon who was obviously Jon Snow & it was obvious he was the other end of the coin flip as stated by Maester Aemon Targaryen at the Wall.
I was totally surprised myself. When I rewatched the series, it was painfully obvious from season one. I am also glad that I didn't read ASOIF before watching the series.

I used to catch so much shit for telling people she was the big bad. Then after it happened I hit even more heat for justifying the heel turn was well established.

My mistake was having read & kept reading through the show so needless to say, parts of me were ahead of the curve and most of what I knew wasn't in the show. The shows are amongst the least faithful page to film transcription I've ever seen.

Damn ... I read the first book and thought how remarkably close the books were to the first few seasons. IMHO the Hunt for Red October and other Clancy movies were the least faithful to the books.

Once you read it, you'll understand completely what I mean. Main characters are flat out omitted from the show & random non book characters get created for the show.

Lady Stoneheart for example. What an absolute waste.

I keep putting it on late at night and keep falling asleep. Damn getting old has its draw backs. Plus relying on subtitles makes it hard to keep up.

But, I’ll get there. So far everything I have read has been positive.

The question remains, when is that fat ass going to come out with book #6 of got. He’s really pushing my buttons.

He’s not. He has no interest in finishing.

May I ask why?
It's hard for me to explain because of all of the little things but I just loved seeing the younger characters reunite and really take charge of their fate. Winter coming for House Frey and Littlefinger being executed kind of surprised me, Samwell saving Jorah and leaving the Citadel was really nicely done ... but the two biggest things were that I really liked was that the full grown dragons were showed to be immensely powerful and still vulnerable. I feared from the beginning that they would be the be all, end all and there was a lot of relief learning that they were not. Four of my favorite scenes of the series were in this season: Arya killing House Frey, Arya practicing with Brienne, Sansa outsmarting and executing Littlefinger and the wagon train destruction. For the first time in the series I really thought Dany was going to lose her shit.
