I voted KC of course. But honestly I’ve had bbq all over and I’ve found something I can like in every region.
I absolutely agree with your 2nd sentence,, I've had Brisket at Franklins in Austin and it ranks in the top 5 of the best meals Ive ever eaten period.. I've had dry rub ribs at Rendezvous and the commissary in Memphis and they were both fantastic.. Ive eaten whole hog at Scotts bbq and pulled pork at Lexington,, incredible experience,,
I have yet to travel to KC,, its on the bucket list,, when I do, Arthur Bryants and jack Stacks is on my radar.

Skip Bryant’s, other than for the history. SLAPs just won first place in brisket at the Jack Daniel’s World Championship this weekend. Jack Stack has the best bbq beans I’ve had. Chef J in the West Bottoms serves what many around here consider to be the best Texas-style brisket in the area. Harp’s in Raytown is supposed to be excellent but I think they are only open one day a week. Rosedale has great lunches. JoesKC is of course great as well. So many good to great joints around here.

I like Jack Stacks sliced thin Brisket.
