IMO it's about more than just salary. UW just has more to offer a coach than Arizona. That's not a shot at Arizona but it's simply reality. It's the same reality that led DeBoer to take the Alabama job.

UofA (U4 as named in a previous FBI investigation into fraudulent basketball dealings) is in bad shape financially due to their laughable $240MM cash disappearance. They’re unveiling a plan to freeze many programs and flat out cut others due to financial mismanagement. And we just climbed ahead of them in EVERY academic ranking worth a damn. And their vaunted basketball team lost @ WAZZU last night.

Legit account tmk but some UW sources are saying Fisch is in talks with UA for a contract extension.

It looks like y'all got him. I will be surprised if that doesn't turn out to be a good get. With all your losses in players and staff, a .500 season will be a good one this season so be patient. I expect y'all to go through what we just finished our first year of and it can be rough at times. Good luck, I expect y'all to be back at this year's level relatively soon.
 
Great job by the UW AD. He was the top target and they were able to land him pretty quickly.

They had great backup options as well. He deserves a lot of credit for leading a great coaching search. Just get the contracts signed!
