Rivals Refugee Check in Thread

Leatherhelmet. He's a Corndog.

I recently bought a Roth Sauer which had long been on my list. I got it for a ridiculous bargain but...that's because its missing a couple parts and I'm going to have to have them fabricated which is a real PITA.

What it would look like if it weren't missing any parts

That flat piece in the front that is fits onto the body is nothing. They'll be able to fabricate that with no problem. That knurled nut at the front though is actually two. Its a royal pain and will take someone who is highly skilled to do it. I found one that I think has the skill to do it but those guys are in short supply....so their waiting list is 10 months. His work will probably cost me about $700-$1000. Its still a bargain considering I got the thing for $750 and when complete they go for $4000-$5000.....but it has taken a good bit of time to find somebody who can do the work I need done.

You got a bargain. Man, I love those grips. I paid $1500 for a similar short 1905 Mannlicher. Also bought the regular longer one for the same price. I'll be posting pictures later after I leave work or tomorrow.

Seriously, cool project

I know, but Rivals had me blocked and everything I tried would not allow me back on that site. But it's good to see you here. I hope the others come over. Looking forward to exchanging some gun porn posts with you.

Sure hope some of the Rivals liberals come over. I'd love the opportunity to gloat over their predictions on Trump's trials and the 2024 election. I hope the guy (can't remember his name but something with "hemet" in it) from OK also was given kudos for his frequent criticisms of the entire transgender atrocity. He's been proven 100% right.
Gun porn 🤩

BTW, did you buy the gun that you really, really wanted?
I have not yet, still looking and biding my time. Plus, with a grad party and two daughters weddings in the span of 9 months, my wife is not to keen on me spending much on myself at this time. Hell, I bought a couple thousand primers here a few days ago and I was in trouble for that. I didn't tell her I almost walked out with another rifle in 300 win. If my daughter hadn't been there I probably would have. It was in a sako, and looked nice.

This is a picture of some of my WWI pistols. I am picking up a 1907 Roth-Streyr either today or Monday. It will be replacing that 1903 hammerless Colt that's merely holding a space. Hoping my Ruby arrives next week. To be fair, the 1911 pictured is WWII vintage.

.300 Win is the go-to calibur up here.

Nice! I've got several from that era. (1905 Mannlicher, 1907 Roth Steyr, 1912 Steyr Hahn, Campo Giro). For WWI I've mostly focused on mouse guns. I have all of them except the FN 1900 which I need to get....one of the ones in the correct serial range to have been bought by the Belgian military. I still have a ways to go with the main sidearms like the Glisenti, Artillery Luger, Mauser C-96, WW1 Vintage Colt 1911, Grandpapa Nambu, etc.

My main focus has been on getting all the German sidearms for WWII.....that basically means every handgun in Europe at the time. I've got a bunch but still have a ways to go.

I've got an acquaintance that did just that very thing several years ago. He held on to them for a few years and then started selling most of his collection. He had quite the variation of firearms, but he was the most proud of his WWII stuff.

All the refugees need to know that this site is owned by the guy that used to be known as "Wake is Great" on Soundoff. He made that handle as a joke. He's actually an FSU graduate and huge FSU fan. One of the greatest trolls in SO history. He was in HS. Now he is a very successful HS HC. Love that fucker because he said what he was gonna do all those years ago.....then he did what he said.
