2025 Season Expectations

“Maybe we just needed a quarterback,” Pavia said bluntly."
Pavia wore a tuxedo to SEC Media Days a few weeks after he said the Commodores were going to “run Tennessee” this year. “
@della
Saying it and doing it are two different things. As a UK fan you should know that better than anyone. 🫠

Alabama?

It's all about Alabama's QB improvement and improvements on defense. If Alabama gets improvements at both, 10-2 or 11-1 regular season and perhaps 2 playoff wins. The wild card is new QB Russell. If he's the next Jayden Daniels, then all bets are off if he starts playing a lot by mid-season. DeBoer's real test is this year and next.

As I have grown older I have realized that all we really get is coach speak and they all say the same thing, so you just have to wait and see.

Fall camp injuries. Off season shenanigans. Lots can happen. Drinking the cool aid right now myself.

Couple of of small town in state kids going to be playing alot. Always excited about those. Have a home schooler that will see the field. Hus highlights bordered bizarre, but there was a clip of him squatting.... Coach Venables said he was the best athlete athlete on the roster.

Talent wise ND should be 11-1 or 12-0

And I would love to he able to say Freeman has learned his lesson to keep his teams trained in even against the inferior opponents. But every year so far he has dropped a game he had no reason to lose against an opponent that wasnt half as good as ND. So until he shows that I have to expect losses that shouldn't happen.

Biggest questions for me this year is a new D Coordinator that I wasnt very excited for when I saw the list of possible replacements for A Golden. And the D Line. Which has a ton of talent on the edge but isn't overly great in the middle.

I know the QB position will be the click bait topic. But really. Either option there will suffice in a Denbrock offense. If they could get R Lenord to a natty game last year arm punting 15 yard passes, any QB with a decent arm and ball placement can improve on that when you have arguably the best RB room in the country with a top 5 O Line to run from.

I will admit I am still impressed with what Freeman has done. And hope he continues to improve. I had said for years that after 2014 Kelly should have been removed. And he was holding ND back. And the speed and amount of success Freeman has shown backs that up for me.

UGA has a youth problem. The talent is astounding. We'll see how it works out in the trenches. The talking heads are down on Gunnar Stockton. I'm not worried about him. He can be limited by the players surrounding him or win the Heisman by the players surrounding him. First glance, I'll say 10-2. Later I'll do what I've done for the last few years and predict scores of each game for UGA's regular season.

TLDR 8-4.

IMHO Auburn should be a better team than last year and it should translate to wins this season. No disrespect intended but Ball State, South Alabama, @Arkansas, Kentucky, @Vandy, and Mercer must all be wins. They should be "just handle your business" days but that's not the case as of late. Unless we are going to change coaches, that is our absolute floor for the season.

We open @ Baylor on Friday 29AUG and IMHO is really a margin of error defining point of the season. A win here and we go into Norman on 20SEP as 3-0 instead of under the gun with @TAMU, bye and UGA on the plate. @OU we have a puncher's chance. @TAMU and UGA should be losses, but be forewarned that I'm already chanting, lighting candles and killing chickens for the DSOR in Jordon-Hare ... then there is the Iron Bowl in Jordon-Hare. I'm not advocating for the practice of voodoo, I'm just saying that sometimes it happens.

IMHO we win @Baylor and ride some momentum, picking up a win or two (no thanks to the chicken) between @OU, @TAMU, UGA and Alabama. I hope for 9-3, satisfied at 8-4, disappointed but understanding at 7-5. Anything less than that and my opinion won't matter although I will support the new coach. 8-4

I would be nervous about Arnold if I was you. Granted our entire offense + staff were in turmoil last year, he still made some the most bone headed plays I have ever seen as a qb.

If you doubt me, go back and watch the Tennessee vs OU game.

We are paying Stoops 9 mil a year. 40 mil buyout... I think he is the only top 10 highest paid CFB coaches that are not expecting a playoff birth.
He's still the best HC you've had since "Bear". Who do you replace him with and what are you willing to pay? How is that replacement gonna do in the hardest conference in the nation? How's the NIL group gonna compete.......are they even willing to try? I love you brother, but it's still Kentucky. I ain't even bluffing.
