Franklin gone

I wouldn’t say they got their shit together. They just fired a coach that hit their ceiling, and they’re more likely to land a lesser version of him (Rhule or Campbell) than get a guy like Cignetti, who even he has yet to prove he can sustain a program.

PSU has a hard cap, I get moving on from a coach with a thousand yard stare, but they’re more likely to be Nebraska, Florida and FSU then they are, Georgia or Clemson.

They have a strong chance of settling for a Mike Shula and/or Dereck Dooly as their next coach IF this hire whiffs.

Pretty much, if they don’t get Cignetti or one of the Matt’s, who again, are a step down from Franklin, they’re looking at someone who is going to inherit a bit of a mess. It’s a double edged sword. Players have agency now, and the guy that recruited them just got fired so how many of them are going to stick around for a new guy when they can get money somewhere else?

Matt Rhule gonna get the job.

Played there and I think he got his start as an assistant there.

That may be, but it’s not worth paying Franklin $49 mil to go away. I doubt the next coach does better.
Franklin grew his HC teeth at Vandy. He led them to back to back 9 win seasons. Those are the only two 9 win seasons in Vandy history. Take that for what it's worth. It might not be a Franklin problem.
