Iran

It's akin to, "We won the game by 28 points". And yeah, we did, but, we had the superior team, yet, they showed anyone can run up the middle on us. The facade is shattered, the illusion of invincibility gone.
That's a laughable take. They showed they couldn't even compete and took an ass whipping when they went up against us.

Yeah. Militarily.

Economically, they whipped our ass.
Did they? I don't see that at all. They're completely cut off from their lone major source of revenue. We on the other hand, get very little of our oil via the Persian Gulf.
And Trump's clock is winding down. Maybe 2 possessions left.
As you know I did not favor going in. I always thought this would take longer. If he was going to do it, he should have waited until after the midterms.

And if we were truly soverign and told the rest of the world to pound rocks, maybe we'd be okay. But fertalizer and food costs are about to skyrocket, gas isn't coming dpown, mortgage rates are way too high, etc etc, and when the bubble bursts - in Europe before us, of course - we will "hve" to help them out at the expenses of taxpayers.

Oh, agreed 100%.

Japan could still launch some kamikazes in the last couple months of the war. That didn't change the fact that they were beaten. Their navy and merchant marine were gone. They were on the brink of mass starvation. Their largest 65 cities (other than Kyoto which we spared) had been largely burned to the ground. The only question was how many were going to have to die before they admitted the obvious.
We chased German insurgents for months after peace was declared. FFS one Japanese soldier, Hiroo Onoda, fought WWII until 1974.
