The new and improved Good Morning thread!

Do you shoot slugs, shot, or a combo?

I took my first deer with an 1100 with shot and have a dedicated slug gun.
Slugs are the only thing legal here with a shotgun. I have a 12 ga 870 that is my dedicated slug gun. This year though with the shortage of ammo even slugs are hard to find so I am switching to a 20 ga. because I have a lot of 20 ga slugs and am shorter than I like on the 12 ga. You can also shoot straight wall rifle cartridges 45/70, 375 win, 444 Marlins, 350 legends and the like. I have wanted a 45/70 for awhile but have never bought one for whatever reason, the 350 legend is interesting as well. My brother in law just killed a black bear with one this fall, and a friend of mine killed 3 or 4 deer last year with one as well. They both were shooting 150 grain bullets and the round performed great.

Keep up on your ammo man, weird times could be coming, and I can't believe buckshot is illegal where you live.

That being said, I've got two on the wall I tagged at about 200 yards with my slug gun, and you're damn right that barrel is rifled.

I bought my son a Mossberg 500 (pump) 20 gauge about 10 years ago, it came with a slug barrel with scope attached to the barrel. I was sighting that thing in using a saw horse with a 2 foot by 2 foot piece of plywood nailed to it as a target,, had some rifled slugs
when i got to busting the sharpie dot I saw a golf ball in the flower bed and got a great idea,
balanced the golf ball on top of the plywood edge and got back and propped up on the truck tailgate,, maybe 40 yards,,
sort of anti climatic, when I shot the golf ball it just disappeared and there was a small puff of dust came up from the dirt driveway 100 yards behind the target,,
Still Going 😎
