I can’t remark on the two other occasions, but this one was needed ASAP. I think the pandemic season from last year kept Helton from being fired then. The first two games this season saw an average performance and an embarrassing performance. Things were not going to improve.Why does USC always fire their coaches IN season as opposed to at the end? It’s moronic, and greatly limits their candidate pool.
With the state of tranfer portals and early signing periods it was a smart move to fire now. The AD now has months to see who’s interested. Plus he gets a jump on some of the hot names in coaching right now.
