Helton fired at USC

Why does USC always fire their coaches IN season as opposed to at the end? It’s moronic, and greatly limits their candidate pool.
I can’t remark on the two other occasions, but this one was needed ASAP. I think the pandemic season from last year kept Helton from being fired then. The first two games this season saw an average performance and an embarrassing performance. Things were not going to improve.

With the state of tranfer portals and early signing periods it was a smart move to fire now. The AD now has months to see who’s interested. Plus he gets a jump on some of the hot names in coaching right now.

Scott fucking “Corn Pop” Frost baby.

Sing Hallelujah.

To start, I am very happy about this, but let me just say this. While I have no love for Helton as USC's head coach, I hope he finds a good coaching job in the future. He came in when we needed an adult to represent us. I have never read anything about his character that would tarnish him or USC. As I stated in a post several years ago, he is a good 8-4 or 7-5 coach. Nothing wrong with that in some places, but at the risk of sounding arrogant, not USC.

Now let's see if the university is still interested in football. For years I have read that the president and b.o.t just don't care. The truth will come out in the next several months.
Between Helton finally getting fired and a Raiders win it’s been a very good day

The only reason Kelly would even entertain that would be if he wants leverage it into a pay raise.
Someone was on ESPIN today saying Kelly should be their first phone call
Kelly is on the cusp of becoming the winningest coach in the storied history of Notre Dame football. Why in the hell would he leave?
