College Football Thread 2023 Edition

Not saying that, but they did play their way in. Is 'Bama better than TX? Not according to the record, but they could end up with a do over. SEC bias is on full display in their selection...
I’d argue the SEC has earned that.

If you are wondering why there is a SEC bias, here it is:
NCAAF champions by year(emphasis mine):
2022GeorgiaCFP
2021GeorgiaCFP
2020AlabamaCFP
2019LSUCFP
2018ClemsonCFP
2017AlabamaCFP
2016ClemsonCFP
2015AlabamaCFP
2014Ohio StateCFP
2013Florida StateBCS
2012AlabamaBCS
2011AlabamaBCS
2010AuburnBCS
2009AlabamaBCS
2008FloridaBCS
2007LSUBCS
2006FloridaBCS
2005TexasBCS
2004Southern CaliforniaBCS
2003LSU, Southern CaliforniaBCS, AP, FWAA
2002Ohio StateBCS
2001Miami (Fla.)BCS
2000OklahomaBCS

Couple of things to point out:
1. In the last four years, the SEC had three different national champions. The next closest conference is the ACC who has to go back over 20 years to claim three different championship programs.
2. In that same 20ish year period, the SEC has logged championships by 5 different programs.
3. Since the turn of the century, no other conference can boast back to back championships at all. The SEC has a run of 7 straight, by four different programs, and currently is in a four year run including three different programs.
4. Only in one year of the playoffs has an SEC team not won a semifinal game and played for the CFP championship. That was in 2015.

Is there a SEC bias? Absolutely and it is earned. If you think that is not right, explain why it is not right without using hypotheticals.
