Conference Realignment?

It sounds like the streaming deal was on Apple and had incentives based on subscriptions, but also was largely contingent on subscriptions. The schools and AD wouldn’t have any idea what to budget. That won’t fly.

Another issue with streaming is that if you have a good game on, people from other areas aren’t going to subscribe just to check it out. I’ll bet me and @AlaskaGuy will be the only ones here to watch UW@MSU because it’s on the Peacock streaming service.
What fucking idiot came up with that idea? I'm all Dawg and I'll bleed Red N Black till I die, but I'm a CFB fan. I love watching good/great games all over our beautiful country, but there's no way in hell I'll ever pay more than the $300+ a month I already pay to watch as much CFB as I can every Saturday. If it's not on one of the gazillions of TV channels I pay for, I'm not watching it.

NBC decided to show 1 game for each B1G team on the Peacock BS this year, and will probably try to keep doing it if they get enough people to subscribe. Total BS, and will kill the viewership from casual fans. Even if you have that streaming service, it’s not easy to flip the channel like we’re all used to.

and how many millions of subscribers
would they need,
to make enuf to split with apple
and the 8 or 9 schools,
to even come close to an attractive deal?

So much stuff has gone to streaming and I don’t watch much of either. Lots of folks I know are into their shows but I’m more of a documentary person I guess. All this conference movement is such a bummer to me, I miss all the regional fights and the pageantry of it all. We’ve chatted about this many times before, it’s just not as fun to watch.

This would be the death of college football.

Horse shit. When I was young Georgia games were televised maybe 2 time a year. We had Larry Munson on the FM radio. Georgia games are still on the FM radio. They can't kill CFB unless they kill FM radio. Y'all fuckers just need to learn how I grew up following my Dawgs.

College football will live on! Regardless of the changes in conferences and the media contracts

Same here with Auburn and Alabama football. Most games were listened to on AM, in the back yard around a fire. We were safety conscious and maintained enough beer and ice in the coolers in case the fire got out of control. It was in the 90s before I saw more games than listened to. And that's not counting the year we were banned from TV.

BTW guys, it is getting that time of year that I will engage in shit talking. If I didn't like everyone, I would leave them alone so please try to take it in the spirit that I intend it which is nothing more than ragging on friends. If anyone thinks I am stepping over the line, please call me out and I will apologize and back off. That being said, @AlaskaGuy what if the PAC went to 10 conference games to increase revenue, seeing how the superior 9 CG model is????

Nothing is going to save the PAC imo.
