I use Michigan to troll Ohio St. fans. Whenever a pro Michigan article comes up on my feed I post it in the B1G smack talk groups.

Leaders lead and followers follow: 'The possibility of playing no games on the major linear networks was too tough of a sell for Huskies football coach Kalen DeBoer, two sources told The Times. And once the Huskies left, the Ducks followed, McCullough reports.'

Pac-12 negligence even worse than you thought

The guy that traded Sammy Sosa for Harold Baines wants to influence football?

Time is running out on Stanford. Networks want some resolution soon. I don't think the Big Ten or the ACC are going to happen for them (although they're continuing to push for it). There's some big time jockeying going on between the AAC, MWC and potentially a rebuilt PAC 4. There's a lot of moving pieces there and I'm really interested to see how that plays out.
But the first domino is Stanford. Once they decided what they're doing, we'll see the other pieces come together.
Early on in this thread, I contemplated the MWC absorbing what was left of the PAC and got ridiculed. Vindication is a sweet bitter fun.
You could be right but I still don't expect Stanford to join the MWC.
I expect resolution to this soon, possibly today.

Would make more senseShouldn't hoity toity Stanford be trying to join the Ivy League?
Once Clemson and FSU bolt, they will be stuck with playing Miami and Louisville. Talk about slumming it for an IVY League type school...![]()
Stanford Informs Remaining PAC-4 Teams It Will Join The ACC For Free
Stanford University has consistently been behind the conference realignment eight ball.www.outkick.com
All of their athletic scholarships are paid for individually by endowments…a nice benefit of having lots of wealthy alumni. No athletic scholarships in the Ivy.Shouldn't hoity toity Stanford be trying to join the Ivy League?

Stanford has the cash to travel to the NE, but the rest of those schools probably aren’t keen on going west to play in Palo Alto.
Stanford really is a unicorn, and geography isn’t on their side.
They are for sure. But they also know that Stanford is going to beat them in everything. Why travel 3000 miles for that? It sucks big time that there’s schools getting shafted in this conference realignment BS, but it doesn’t mean that others have to share the pain. It’s all survival mode these days.Because they're even more hoity toity than Stanford.

Nobody gives a shit about Stanford except for Stanford. While the Ivy League would have some appeal, there are 2 main problems:
1) The Ivy League is extremely traditional and I don't think they have any interest in adding Stanford, despite Stanford's obvious academic qualifications.
2) Stanford seeks to compete at a higher level across all sports than most of the Ivy League. There are some exceptions, of course, but Stanford wants to be compete an a more rigorous athletic conference. And that's not just football, it's all sports.
My guess is Stanford will go independent in football (remember, they don't really care about the media rights money) and play in the Big Ten in other sports. This isn't based on any intel, just a guess.
