Doesn't explain the elaborate construction. Depth of the "money pit", flood tunnels, etc. No...this is something big. I've thought it for 40 years.

Bunch of us were. Only reason to stomach orange for some of us. Been to Bristol. Center of Main St. is the state line. Cool as shit.

I lurked there for a few years and the heartfelt response from y'all over his passing really moved me … IIRC y'all set up a fund for his kids college and/or funded training support dogs in his name. My apologies for not remembering exactly, but y'all showed me a different side of message boards then. I had noticed the good old fashioned fun and friendly ribbing between the group and was afraid I would screw it up if I got active.

But yes, definitely the track and a couple of times a year they will have events where you can pay like $20 and make a few laps in your car on the track. I can find out when that happens next if you would like. We are relatively close to the Carter Fold and I have even driven up to Pikeville, KY on a day trip to drive to the Hatfield/McCoy sites. If we cant find someone to post bail, we can visit the cell that George Jones spent three days in -one night, as he told it.

It was the "next" meet up. Hell, we talked about setting up a booth for "Rivals". We were blind. Now we can see. Now when we set up a booth for our "board", we have one that deserves what we can help build.

I am mixed on the booby trapped flood tunnels. I was skeptical of that until recent discoveries in the Cove. I am kind of optimistic now that there is more to it than I thought. I was probably just put off by the Templar theories but that shouldn't have made me discount everything.

I now live 2 streets over from State Street but on the other side of Volunteer Parkway from downtown. My brother worked the game and I went over to get a view of the field when they were putting up the towers for the skycam. They are wanting to start hosting a football game every five or so years and possibly working it into a bowl game long term. That is all preliminary though and TV rights are the sticking point. On the plus side, the Cherokees are in negotiations to put in a 300 acre,four star casino/resort with indoor waterpark at exit five/seven off of I81.

Yeah, we paid for his kid to finish college. We sponsored a support dog in DawgEStyle's name when he died. Many of us realized that the people we were talking to were real people. Then somehow, a few people on the board started talking to each other in the real world. That changed everything.
 
@batchaps4me the tribe is getting ready to open up a new casino out in Bristol on the VA side. We bought Hub 81 or something like that which is some shopping center area and bought 350 adjacent acres to build a huge casino resort there.

You know anything on all that?

Yes, I just mentioned it. It is to be a four star casino/resort at the Pinnacle around exit five or seven of I81 on the VA side. Supposed to have an indoor water park. VA approved a referendum for Bristol, VA to okay gambling and if it passes this November a second one will open up near my house in an old Mall. I am not sure if your casino is dependent on that vote but I can find out.

I kind of took it that you are in Cherokee, NC. I have been there once with my Dad … just on a drive through Cades Cove and came back through Ashville. I had planned to go play a poker tourney at the casino but never made it.
