I just lost my shit. Rumor at BK is that CFB 2020 is cancelled.

Except for beer runs.

I’m getting less confident on having a football season next fall..... (nothing official but local high school superintendent claimed online classes could continue in August next school year, colleges would announce first)...

say if they cancel this CFB season. Do players get one extra year of eligibility?

I was thinking about that earlier today and I say a definite yes....I don’t know how the answer could be anything but...yes. Hope we don’t have to find out....

Could be interesting with an extra year eligibility and recruiting and the draft. Do freshman get an automatic redshirt? Some commit assuming a senior will be gone.

NCAA approved year of eligibility for athletes who lost season due to coronavirus.

Wife calls me from work and says they are closing the dining room, going to drive thru service until further notice. For those that don't know, she is a manager for the local Burger King.

Anyways, she commences to telling me that corporate sent word today that colleges are closing until next year.....therefore, there will be no CFB season for 2020.

I came unglued. No CFB????? I'll kill a motherfucker.

BTW, take this for what it's worth.....it is, in fact, firsthand info from BK.
I’m going to report you for Heresy! You take that back, you take that back now!!

My interest is potential decommitments because a "guaranteed" spot is no longer there, because a senior is still there. Is the number of scholarships allowed, temporarily increasing? Teams will be retaining a "class of players" while another comes in.

I am told the SEC office briefed the HFCs and told them 50-50 football season goes forward and be prepared for it to be cancelled. WOW!!!!

Also:

Heard NCAA is not intending to cancel football, unless it really has to, willing to start season as late as October, if needed. Too much lost revenue from cancelling basketball finals. A lot of schools will go under without any money for this year.

Well, If pitt and Marshall are two that go down, I may be okay with one 'no-season' 😁
