This is from the back of a chair my uncle has on his porch. He was in the Army and a sneaky sumbitch as a Merchant Marine.

That's what I was going to say. How old was it @RazzlDazzl? It could be from an era that Great Lakes, IL was the only RTC.

I went to boot twice. First time was with the USAR at FT. McClellan in June and July and two years later Great Mistakes in December and January. I am not exactly a vacation planner.

I actually live about 15 miles from Ft. McClellan now lol!

Bless your heart … errrrr … thoughts and prayers??? You can see the mountains that I watched the sun rise over from the front leaning rest position. I grew up about an hour and half west of there, just north of Bham.

I went to Hueytown HS, but spent a LOT of time in West Jefferson. My grandparents lived a couple of miles from West Jefferson and I spent almost every weekend and all summer at their place. I22 / Corridor X went right through Granny's house.

I went to Hueytown HS, but spent a LOT of time in West Jefferson. My grandparents lived a couple of miles from West Jefferson and I spent almost every weekend and all summer at their place. I22 / Corridor X went right through Granny's house.

Small world indeed. I am from Parrish and I22 missed Dad's by about a half mile. My uncle had to move his house and sell part of his property. We used to got to Hueytown for a seafood restaurant(cant remember the name) and always drove by this address … #1 Victory Lane. Dad was a huge fan.

Same here. I go back home for funerals mostly now and maybe just visit once a year. About three days at a time is all I can handle.

I have no idea how old it is but it's damn sure old.

The font and USN was a no brainer, but RTC had me scratching my head and he was never in the Navy.
