The F.... happened, A.G?

Great northerns soaked overnight, chopped onions, hamhock w/cornbread. :)

We do more poor people pork, cooked with a lot of fatback for meat since it's a staple in like 12 different meal combos out here.

Pintos are the gold standard here since that's our main bean crop we've grown for thousands of years here.

We also have been bread, chestnut bread and lye dumplings out here. All are dumplings in a way as they consist of cornmeal, beans, chestnuts or cornmeal cooked in lye like with hominy. It's nothing special but very special at the same time.

Better than sex.

I've had some good burgers over the decades. And the best was a mom and pop stand in Bowman, ND made from fresh buffalo meat.

But, better than sex? Never had one that good.

The best I ever had was elk at a mom and pop joint between Tacoma and Portland near the Oregon border. IIRC it was just a few exits before the one for Mt. St. Helens, going south.

Not where I am from ... Growing up I hated it because it was supper every day. Now I would just as soon eat beans & cornbread as I would a steak, most of the time. Add in a garden mater ... ripe, or fried green, and quarter onion ... set that plate on the top of my head and my tongue would slap my brains out trying to get to it.
Now that's sacrilegious to choose beans and cornbread over a steak. It's great if they go along with it, just not instead of.

Replace that Pornapple with a sweet home-grown 'mater and you have a winner. Hmm... pork (the bacon in this case, although normally with ham) does go with glazed pineapple. Im bi-confused now.
Stick a big ole fat slice of pineapple along with some teriyaki sauce on this burger and you have a taste of west coast heaven.
