Morning all
Taxes are going to eat you alive. Worked extra shifts the July 4th holiday weekend and was sadly disappointing with my check...I know my taxes are going to some BS which makes it worse.Think after today I will be at 68-70 hours. And cashed out 4 hours of vacation so that will be added to the hours on next week's paycheck.
When does the tax exemption on OT kick in?Taxes are going to eat you alive. Worked extra shifts the July 4th holiday weekend and was sadly disappointing with my check...I know my taxes are going to some BS which makes it worse.
I dont get OT, I just get straight pay. I dont know how they get away with it but they do. My straight pay is pretty good as I get paid wether I go in or not on-call.When does the tax exemption on OT kick in?
I was lucky in that our first forty was straight time, the first twelve hours of OT were time and half and anything over that was time and 3/4. If you were on shift work, about once a month you had seven days off in a row without missing an hour in the pay period. You could easily get 48 hours at time and 3/4. It was great for 401k purposes but anything over 54 hours saw relatively negligible effects on your net pay.I dont get OT, I just get straight pay. I dont know how they get away with it but they do. Yeah, there is a "sweet spot" on taxes, and if you work too much you get screwed. Makes no sense.I was lucky in that our first forty was straight time, the first twelve hours of OT were time and half and anything over that was time and 3/4.
