The new and improved Good Morning thread!

I have to finally get ahead on some projects. My roof leaking on both porches ... all exterior to the house ... was a blessing in disguise. It got me off my lazy ass. The garage is not leaking yet, but I need to get ahead of it. I also need to replace two garage door openers. This summer, I am going to install a storm door and do some exterior painting as well as some foundation/brick sealing. This is all on my wife's honeydo list and when I complete it, I have clearance to build my "man cave". It's really just a 20' X 20' patio cover out back so we can BBQ and watch football outside this fall rain or shine.

Getting old does suck, but it beats the hell out of the alternative.
I suggest replacing the garage door openers with a belt drive system. Only slightly higher cost, but quiet as hell.

Thanks! We have a 3 car garage with Craftsman chain drive openers. One stall does not have a remote and one remote in the center stall does not work. Looking at the costs of remotes, it is about $40 more to buy an opener with 2 remotes than the remotes themselves. My idea is to replace the center opener and then put the old one on the stall without a remote. It is a detached garage so noise is not an issue to me.

So went to orthopedic surgeon today, waiting on a call to schedule an MRI. He thinks instead of dislocation I have a complete tear of the meniscus, and what I thought was dislocating was actually the torn meniscus sliding out of the joint and locking the knee. Surgery is in my future but just how extensive and when is yet to be determined.

Actually, the torn meniscus is a better diagnosis. The surgery is not near as bad in MOST cases, and recovery is much quicker. If the knee joint has deteriorated too badly and knee replacement is needed that’s a different story. The mri will dictate the next step.

Best of luck and take care of that knee! Here is hoping for just a minor cleanup.

Let's hope the meniscus is all it is then. I've got a son stationed down at Benning and I might be able to get his ass over to you to help with your siding project (if that's not too far from you) while you deal with the knee issue.....

He's close to ****auburn**** lol.
