The new and improved Good Morning thread!

I don’t want to retire for at least one more year. I could, but I’m not ready, and want to be a little more financially secure before I do. One more year!
Most farmers don't retire until they absolutely can not do it any longer. I know of several in their late 70s and even a few in their 80s still going. I will most likely never get much of a retirement either. Normally they have sons farming with them, but sometimes not. I have a neighbor that dosen't have anyone to help him except another guy he hires who's older than him and he's 77 or 78. He dosen't have any livestock anymore but he still calls me quite often to do stuff that they can't handle. My dads 67 and has no plans to quit. I have noticed he's slowed down some over the last few years and I've gotten even busier.

One my best friends Dad was a long time farmer. Had switched from dairy to just mostly beef a couple of times. depending on the market They had over 2000 acres and over the years it dwindled down to 1000 acres to 500 acres and now less by selling. Good thing real estate is a good investment, that was kind of his retirement, I guess. Always sad to see a family farm go down, but inevitable for him.

Good morning

Just to catch up, @RTR...USN (ret) get better friend :(

@Copejunkie the idea is to retire and do something you love doing, if you're already doing that, no need to retire!
Feel better than I have in months. I start pt on Tuesday. Relatively pain free, just weak in that shoulder/arm. Dr released me from restrictions. So I was able to actually do a little bit of work around the house. I have limited use of the arm, but it still felt good to actually do something!!!
