Good morning all
Good morning everyone. Drove up to NE Tennessee yesterday for my BIL’s funeral. Didn’t get home until midnight last night. It’s going to be a long day. I don’t know if any of you folks have had to attend a funeral during this pandemic, and I’m hoping you haven’t, but it was strange. Because of restrictions it was limited to family only. Due to not having his Covid test results, the decision was made to cremate his remains. So there was no body to view to say goodbye. Masks and social distancing protocols were in place at all times. It’s surreal actually. No closure, just empty words, a picture, flowers and music. A slideshow of pictures from his life and music on a loop.
There was a humorous moment when I told my wife and daughter that if they played “ Go rest high on that mountain “ by Vince Gill at my funeral I would haunt the hell out of them. My daughter bless her heart said “ well what WOULD you like played daddy”? My response? “Pop goes the weasel “ while everyone stares at the casket in horrified anticipation!” The laughter in the car was epic! It definitely lightened the mood.
Sounds good and thank you!I know that this was not a good circumstance to do so but the next time you are in the area let me know and I will buy y'all a cup of coffee.
Yep, went through a very similar experience with my wife's Dad. Sorry your wife and family had to go through this. Also, I didn't know you were such a big 3rd Bass fan, me too!Good morning everyone.
