I'm so glad I retired at 55 last year.. things are so much better,, the loss of stress and anxiety alone makes it worth it..Looks like I might be "retiring" a bit early. Company wants to get rid of some of us older folks so they sent those of us over 55 with at least 10 years service and early separation offer.
just a couple of things to think about,
1. Figure out how much money you need each month, there are budget worksheets for retiring online that can help with that.. make sure to allow yourself some extra for doing whatever retirement things you plan to pursue,, traveling, fishing, whatever..
2. determine when you want to start taking Social Security, 62? or 65?
3. Make 2 plans, one to get you from now till you start social security, and another to get you from social security till you die..
4. consider Health insurance, its a huge cost, medicare doesnt start until age 65.
if you wanna talk more about specifics, im no expert but will share what I did in detail if you wish,, pm me for cell number
