Everything I have found is saying he is still in the decision phase. I hope he stays and builds on what he did this past season. I think another year to really put up some more numbers and improve his chances of going in an early round would be ideal but these kids have no patience these days. Hoping his family pushes him to stay and get better.

EDIT: WOOHOO! Rattler has announced he is coming back for the 2023 season.

Guys we(Auburn) are doing well in the portal so far. We haven't gotten any earth-shattering pickups but have addressed our O line, D line and linebackers with quality transfers that should have an immediate impact. Coach Freeze is doing a great job addressing team needs, especially given the late start he had.

If there’s one thing I can tell you from last years experience. This is just the start. Quite a few players jumped in the portal after spring camps. Still not sure what to make of the portal. But it has made for a very active off season.

I totally agree and also would like to add that once the O line is addressed, skill players will give more consideration. It's hard to recruit a QB that knows he is going to be beaten to death. Not that I think our O line will be dominant, but for the first time since Gus's third to last year it should be adequate for us to compete with an attacking scheme. This should help when recruiting HS kids.

On a related side note, recruiting under Coach Freeze is light years ahead of Coach Harsin. I still place a lot of blame on Yeller Wood for undercutting the Coach. Sure Harsin shares in the blame as well, but from my personal working experience if you actively try to prevent me from doing my job ... the outcome is not going to be good for either of us.
 
Coen will earn the same salary of 1.7 mill as he did with the Rams at UK
