What are we drinking tonight?

You need to see a game in kinnick. It is electric when a big game is town. But there is nothing like 14500 people screaming in Carver hawkeye arena for a wrestling meet at the top of their lungs. The intensity is off the charts. It's been so loud there that it's rung my ears.
That would be excellent.

@Copejunkie on my bucket list is a plan when the misses retires to hit SEC country in the fall and make our way to ND game before heading back to Cali.

Plan is to catch as many Saturday college football games as possible and if possible, enjoy a cup of coffee or drink with as many 5Q crew along the way as possible.

This will naturally land me in your neighborhood, so a visit is very likely. Love Iowa every time I’ve been there. Family scattered all over that beautiful state.
This sounds great,, when you get some solid plans (dates) give us some time,, not sure if others would be interested but if we could pick a central location that a bunch of us could go to,, like a cabin in the north Georgia mountains, maybe we could organize a meet during one weekend of college football and watch all the games on TV together,, that would be a blast,, would have loved to have gotten to do the Gulf Shores thing,, fuck you covid.

Blue Ridge, Georgia would be an ideal place. I happen to know a few good places in town. My cousin and Aunt live there.

Add to this, both my cousin and her husband have their real estate licenses now. They bought their place in Blue Ridge when they retired. She's a retired school teacher, he's a retired LEO. While they don't deal with rental cabins, they have numerous friends that do. If we decide to put something together, I'll have no problem finding what we need, might even get a discount. I do know there are many places in the area that can sleep up to 15 comfortably. For all us old guys, that means we could put together a crowd of 30 or so together for a few days. That would be one helluva bar tab.

On a side note, there's a micro brewery in a town on the Tennessee border about 10 miles away that was built from a remodeled old 2-bay gas station. One bay is the brewery set up, the other bay is the bar. I had no idea a mango/habenero brew could be so damn tasty.

Our state owned and ran liquor stores (ABC Store = Alabama beverage control) has periodic releases of rare and hard to find bourbons. And only at select stores, not all of them. An hour ago I googled abc bourbon release and wouldn't you know they had one today, usually people line up and they sell out early, I called the Jacksonville store and they actually had several bottles left of something I've been wanting for years, Cheers boys, it's a good night...

Thighs are better and the per pound price is the same. From an old grocery store manager, though.....you shoulda spent less money on a 10lb bag of leg quarters. More meat and easier to cook. Just make sure you trim the fat before you put them on the grill so it don't flame up so bad. Use the fat to season the rice.
