Whats for dinner?

I would have made Beef Stroganoff with those ingredients, add sour cream, mushrooms and egg noodles. However, I like your creativity. :)
I love stroganoff, it's up there with chili, chicken and dumplings, and American goulash.

Post the recipe for that one! Pretty please with orange sugar on it?
Ok, I just hate to type all that out if no one really intends to make it. I'm going to assume I'm talking to complete noobs, so that it won't be confusing and thus less intimidating. Does that sound good?

I give you my word that I will make it within a week of you posting it.

Ok...

You will need a dutch oven. If you don't have one you can use a big pot that has a lid that can go in the oven
Now, you'll need these ingredients:

Chicken thighs (3 or 4lbs) You can use thighs and drums, but thighs are better
vidalia onion or sweet onion Chopped 1.5 inch pieces (3 cups)
White button mushrooms (8oz sliced) You can buy them sliced or whole and slice them
Red wine (8oz) I use those tiny little bottles that come in a 4 pack cause I don't drink
Chicken Stock (1 cup) Don't buy Swanson, theirs sucks and don't buy chicken broth
Carrots 2 inches, peeled (8oz) You can cut your own or buy those pre-cut and peeled
Olive oil 3 tablespoons
Flour all purpose 1 cup Not self rising
Spices:

Garlic
1 Tablespoon (minced which is chopped super fine) You can buy jars of minced garlic or mince it yourself
Bay leaf (2 whole leaves)
Salt and pepper to taste or 1/2 a teaspoon each, but don't go crazy with the salt because there will be some in your chicken stock
Thyme (1 teaspoon)
Butter
(3 tablespoons) Look at a stick of butter it is marked of in tablespoons cut off 3. If you use margarine I'll come thru this screen and kick your ass
Parsley fresh enough to garnish

Now, how to do it....

Miss Della, I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you doing this. The only recipes I could find had Conac as an ingredient. I'm just a 4 pack of merlot from having everything needed. We have a couple of Dutch Ovens for the oven and I will try it there first and then will probably fire up my cast iron Dutch ovens on my second attempt.

Ok, go ahead and chop your onion, slice your mushrooms and cut your carrots. Take your thighs and Lightly sprinkle salt and pepper on them

Preheat your home oven to 325.
Put your dutch oven on stove over med/high heat with olive oil in it
Put your flour in a bowl so you can lightly dredge your thighs both sides (lightly coat them in flour)
Place thighs in dutch oven for 2 minutes each side to brown and the remove and put them aside
Add butter to your dutch oven and then your sliced mushrooms, onions, carrots, thyme salt, pepper cook for 5 minutes and stir
Add the garlic the last minute of the 5 aforementioned time
Add chicken stock, wine and Bay leaves and stir (to mix up)
Add chicken skin side up
Put lid on dutch oven and place in preheated home over and cook for 2 1/2 hours

Any questions? Then get cooking Noobs!
This meal is delicious, not expensive and will impress anyone. 🙂

Yeah, you can do that, but we will need to adjust the time for the temp. Most crock pots have a high temp (300 degrees). So, cook for 3 hrs instead 2/1/2.
