FYI - txTIGER1963

So here's my opinion of everything I found out today.

Our friend is one tough sumbitch. He's done a helluva job of raising 3 kids by himself. I was amazed at how well rounded his kids are. Intelligent as hell, and taking every day in stride.

We were very close to losing him. He's awake and aware after 2 weeks of medically induced coma. He's been through a shitload of procedures and it looks like he's gonna survive them all. He's not completely out of the woods yet, but he can see the tree line if you know what I mean.

Before I left, I went back into ICU to let him know we were leaving. I told him that all of us were with him heart and soul and that we knew he would be back to giving us shit for being such softies about what he was going through. Although he can't talk because of the trache, I saw the smile in his eyes.

It could be weeks or months before he's able to get back to having a life, but I fully believe he will get there. Let me make this clear....if they need ANYTHING, we can help. All of you know it as well as I do. I told his oldest that very thing. She said they were OK for now. (I saw some reluctance as she said it, but his kids have his pride.) I told her that if they needed anything to let me know. I said, "Remember, you're not asking, we are".

I feel much better than I did yesterday.

Awesome news. Thankyou. I don't know @txTIGER1963 except for my small amount of interactions here with him, (in fact I haven't met any of you in person but would like to change that eventually) I have prayed for him to recover just as I know many of you have. It's great to see how many friendships and how much personal investment you and others put into this small community that you are building. Thankyou again. Keep fighting @txTIGER1963 I think I'm right in saying you have a pretty big cheering section.

Just got a text from his daughter. He is being moved to a hospital in Augusta. She says "It's a specialty hospital. He'll have better care and open visitation." That'll be a drive for her every day and we may need to help with expenses.

She's stubborn just like her Dad. He raised her right. That said, I do think we can help. She said that her financial situation is not our problem. I said that he is our friend and she is in a position to provide him with what we can only wish we could. If we can help her be there for him every day, it's the least we can do for our friend.
 
Hey y'all, remember Knee Draggin? He is posting porn left and right on rivals in a thread about whether or not he should leave a note or not to suicide. Scary stuff y'all. I'll keep y'all updated. I'm really worried about our brother. He just said his wife is a whore. It's Valentine's day for God's sake.
