How is portal season going for you so far?

It will be interesting to see where the QB dominoes fall.

It sounds like Leonard to ND is happening. Gabriel to Oregon is expected. Cam Ward is the first big domino. A lot of people are going to take a swing for him and then settle if they miss.

Ward is expected to visit USC, Washington, Miami, Nebraska and Florida State. I think UW has Rogers lined up as a backup option if they miss on Ward. USC has Howard lined up if they miss on Ward.

Dante Moore is an interesting name. I think he ends up at Michigan or Oregon if he's willing to sit next year and compete for a starting job in 2025.

DJU is looking at Florida State and Mississippi State.

Nebraska really needs to find their next QB in the portal. They may make a run at McCord if they miss out on Ward.
Vandagriff to Kentucky has already happened. That's a much bigger deal than you realize.

Leonard to ND is all but done. His NIL is about 3 million from a car dealership. As long as he doesn't take an 11th hour change of heart it will be announced in the next few days.

I forgot to mention him. He's a good player and I think UK is lucky to have him.

I also like the kid Cincy picked up from Indiana. Shough to Louisville could work if he stays healthy.
He was a 5-star out of HS. When was the last time Kentucky had a 5-star QB? He's a legit dual threat and I'm actually looking forward to what Coen does with him.

It will be a big year for Kentucky. Outside of beating Louisville, they had a disappointing season. It will be interesting to see if he can be the guy that sparks that offense.

Nobody remembers that he was committed to SCAR. Seriously, though, its that for real? You're the one talking about shutting your money pipeline down and quitting with the season tickets. Spend more or shut the hell up.
That is the point, it's now a separate area of "supporting" your team (the Garnet Trust has been created to fund NILs) the Gamecock Club is the traditional support for student athletes. If I wanted pro football, I'd support and watch the Carolina Panthers. They are just as close to me in distance.

I've watched college ball for decades. I've enjoyed it until recently, now the teams have more loyalty to the dollar than to the school and it's fans. It's frustrating to have a player blossom into a great player, then next year he's playing on another team trying to defeat the coach that trained him in the first place. There has to be some restrictions placed on the portal transfers when it potentially damages the school immediately the next year. No transfers to teams on next year's schedule would be a great start (or sit out that game). The "letter of intent" needs to be eliminated, as it no longer means anything when you're still being recruited every year. There is no longer any stability in a team's base foundation of experienced players if a player can leave on a whim. It's now how much money can you pay me to stay, or leave.

6 currently in the portal, I expect many more. Back-up QB Brock Vandagriff is the big name. 5-star coming out of HS. Strongly suggests that Beck is forgoing the draft and coming back next season.
Up to 9, including KR specialist and WR Mehki Mews, who this season with nearly 800 all purpose yards and a punt return for a TD. So of those 9, our kick returner, our kickoff guy, Jared Kirkel, and our back-up QB. The other 6 are 4-5 star players that are getting passed on the depth chart. I wish all of them luck in their future endeavors and thank them for their service to UGA.

This is our worst loss so far:

Dec. 7: Jordan Dingle Shakes Up Tight End Room

Jordan Dingle was one of the many success stories from Kentucky’s talented 2021 recruiting class. A four-star talent and a top five recruit from the Commonwealth, he burst onto the scene as a redshirt freshman by catching 20 passes for 220 yards and three touchdowns. Limited by injuries this fall, Josh Kattus took a lion’s share of the TE1 reps. That is ultimately why Dingle is seeking greener pastures.

Even though Liam Coen runs quite a bit of 12 personnel (two tight ends, one running back), there are still only so many snaps that can be distributed around Vince Marrow’s talented tight end room. He got flagged far too often, but Kattus is the Cats’ best blocker in the room and he showed enough in the route tree to remain on the field. Khamari Anderson, an Under Armour All-American a year ago, flashed in his first appearance, hurdling a Louisville defender for a first down.

Of all the outgoing players in the transfer portal, this is the most shocking. Dingle was a great kid in the locker room and a solid contributor on the field. He’ll most likely be a starter at the Power Five level. Vince Marrow is investing in Josh Kattus and young talent to ensure the tight end room doesn’t miss a beat.

Learning the free agency game in the semi pros of what used to be college football.

Update:

Gabriel committed to Oregon as expected. Miss State took the Baylor QB. Everyone is still pursuing Cam Ward and I've heard Auburn has entered the mix as a serious contender.
