Finished cutting up and removing the deck and disposing of it. Got most of the old siding and trim removed. Found rot in the sheathing, so I cut that out and put in new. Our house was built in the 70’s, and whoever did it committed a lot of sins. One sin was not leaving sufficient space on the slab to install flashing and waterproofing, thus the rot. So, I’m having to get creative with Z flashing, self-sealing membrane, and caulk to make the bottom edge waterproof. On top of that, slab is only 3”, instead of 4 which doesn’t help, especially since the concrete walk/patio are has a negative slope to the house. (That is a future project, I’ll tackle that this winter. )needless to say, I didn’t get near as much done as I wanted to, but I’m exhausted and stopping for the day. I’ll start again in the morning when it’s cooler.

Well shit. Fucking tractor. This new Tractor we leased has been nothing but problems. First day of planting it quit at 8 hours. Second day of planting it quit at 8 hours. 3rd day of planting it quit at 2 hours. Today it quit after 3 hours. If you let it sit all night it will run again. It has the tech guys completely befuddled. They threw parts at it today, didn't fix the problem. So it's sitting again. They think it might be the brain box. I guess at least it's under warranty so I don't have to pay for it. I told them it was a union tractor. I figure its cost me 30 hours of run time in the last 4 days. And to top things off the tractor we use to work ground ahead of the planter went down. The injector pump went out of it. Thats somewhere between a 10 to 15 thousand dollar bill, and it's not under warranty.
