Good morning everyone. Starting demo of an old deck today. Got to rip it apart so I can start the siding replacement on the next wall. My goal is to have another wall completed this weekend.
Stage 1 of deck removal is underway!

I have to admit, I would have reenlisted by now.Keep grinding!
You are definitely getting nookie tonight from the wife. Make her get on top tho after you put the icy hot on your back.Finished cutting up and removing the deck and disposing of it. Got most of the old siding and trim removed. Found rot in the sheathing, so I cut that out and put in new. Our house was built in the 70’s, and whoever did it committed a lot of sins. One sin was not leaving sufficient space on the slab to install flashing and waterproofing, thus the rot. So, I’m having to get creative with Z flashing, self-sealing membrane, and caulk to make the bottom edge waterproof. On top of that, slab is only 3”, instead of 4 which doesn’t help, especially since the concrete walk/patio are has a negative slope to the house. (That is a future project, I’ll tackle that this winter. )needless to say, I didn’t get near as much done as I wanted to, but I’m exhausted and stopping for the day. I’ll start again in the morning when it’s cooler.
